Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not intended to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
