Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, readers and a range of guests.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.
My son told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
They have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.
However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
